Ephemera
Ephemera Pure Silk Thread
The Pure Silk Ephemera Thread is the best possible choice for the most demanding classic fly dresser, a perfect thread for spiders and wets in the North Country style.
At the same time it represents an excellent choice also for tying classic salmon flies. Thin and resistant, the Pure Silk Ephemera Thread is available in a wide range of bright and shiny colours.
These silk threads are very similar to Pearsall’s Gossamer Threads which are sadly no longer available– both in diameter, three strand twist (approx’ 4/0) and in strength. To ensure uniformity and great colour saturation, these threads are dyed in floats ( full hanks).
This material will benefit from waxing which party preserves your flies and will subtly change the colour of the silk.
Whilst they are not an exact copy of the original Pearsall’s colours, they are very close to their shades. For instance, the “Golden Yellow” is very close to the original No.4 (Waterhen Bloa, etc) and the “Orange” is ideal for a Partridge & Orange – or try the “Burnt Orange” in place of the old No. 19 – Pearsall’s Hot Orange
Qty: 1 single spool.
